Kingston plans event

Kingston Residence of Perrysburg will host a parking lot party fund-raiser, on Wednesday, September 20, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., at 333 East Boundary Street. All proceeds will benefit the Walk to End Alzheimer’s drive.

I have been a Perrysburg resident and homeowner for ten years this summer. My husband and I have four children currently enrolled in the district and we both work in the area. We feel truly lucky to be able to send our children to Perrysburg schools, and we are invested in making sure that the district continues to provide opportunities for our kids.

Positively Pink to emphasize laughter at September 21 event

Positively Pink, a women’s health series, will hold an event on Thursday, September 21, at 7 p.m., with social time beginning at 6:30 p.m., in the Wood County Hospital meeting rooms. This night will focus on “Laughter: An Invaluable Tool for Coping with Life’s Stressors.”

Presby pie sale dates set

First Presbyterian Church will sell pies at the corner of East Second and Elm, on the church lawn, the second and fourth Thursdays through September. Items can sell out quickly and there is often a line by 3:30 p.m.

St. Rose students kayak on Maumee River

The Saint Rose eighth grade class recently explored the Maumee River by kayak with the leadership of Metroparks Toledo. The two-hour program provided basic kayak safety measures as well as an introductory kayak lesson before the students headed out on the Maumee River to explore the shoreline of the Audubon Islands. Paddling up the cut in the middle of the island, the leaders shared the environmental and human history of the islands as well as the upcoming conservation project that will be visible from the school’s playground.

Annual trunk show to benefit local nonprofits

Country Garden Club of Perrysburg’s 36th annual Trunk Show will be held October 3 and 4 at the Carranor Hunt and Polo Club. Twenty vendors offering clothing, jewelry, purses, home goods and food items will be at this year’s event.
