The top three photos are of the Carl Schmidt Motor Sales Chevrolet, a dealership at the corner of Louisiana and Indiana avenues from 1939 to 1974. The bottom photo is of the property after it was purchased by developer Bill Wumer who transformed it and built Perry’s Landing. He added a third story and a cupola. Damschroder’s Clothing Store occupied the corner for nearly 10 years.
Carl Schmidt Motor Sales Chevrolet dealership was a Perrysburg landmark on the northwest corner of Louisiana and Indiana Avenues from 1939 to 1974.
It all began in 1937. In an old blacksmith shop in Pemberville, a Pontiac garage was started by brothers Carl and Ed Schmidt along with their father, Herman, who owned a gas station in south Toledo.
