Ronald Lee Metti, age 80, of Perrysburg, passed away on March 3, 2023. Ron went to Garfield Heights High School, near Cleveland, Ohio (class of ‘61) and was class president. He graduated from Kent State University, and taught physical education and health at Rogers High School for 30 years. Coaching soccer and volleyball at Rogers HS, as well as being one of the founders of the Toledo Junior Soccer League were some of his passions. He worked for Primerica Financial Services since 1985, and enjoyed helping many people.

Watching his daughters and eventually grandkids play sports was something he enjoyed and was very proud of them. He hated boats, but bought Marylin a pontoon and became a member of the Perrysburg Boat Club and made lasting friendships. His buddies enjoyed playing poker and had a club called

SROW (Society of the Redistribution of Wealth) for 40 years. Breakfast with friends and being a member of the Dining Divas and Dudes was a common activity.

Ron was an Indians and Browns fan, and many people even offered to buy the Browns jacket he wore around town. Traveling with Marylin began 55 years ago and they have been to all 50 states, Canada, Europe, South America and the Caribbean. He enjoyed cruising on large ships and visiting national parks.

Surviving is his loving wife of 55 years, Marylin; daughters, Marlene (Julie) Metti of Toledo and Marsha (Nick) Swanson, Perrysburg. Also surviving are grandchildren, Josie and Grey Swanson, Chase Richards, and brother, Kenneth (Pat) Metti of Cleveland.

A celebration of life will be held at the Carranor Hunt and Polo Club 502 East Second Street, Perrysburg, Sunday, March 12, from 1 to 5 p.m.
