Jill Broer Davila, age 65, of Perrysburg, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2021, at the Manor at Perrysburg. She was born May 4, 1956, in Rantou, Illinois, to Carlton “Tony” Jr. and Joanne (Thompson) Broer.

Jill was a certified gemologist appraiser. She was employed with the family business, Broer-Freeman Jewelers, for more than 30 years and transitioned to Harold Jaffe Jewelers before retirement in 2016.

In her free time, Jill enjoyed collecting, restoring and modifying classic cars with her husband, and attending car shows. Her favorites included James Dean and the Duck Tail Run.

Jill also trained in Japanese Shidokan and Krav Maga. She held a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and a brown belt in Chinese Kenpo. Jill was an avid reader, loved being outside and lying in the sun. She was lovingly known as “the best aunt ever” and always had great stories to share.

Left to cherish her memory is her father, Tony; beloved husband of 45 years, James “Jimmy” Davila; son, Joseph (Jean) Davila; sisters, Jeanine Vallajo and Patricia (O.J.) Hinojosa; brother-in-law, Billy Tye; her very best friend, Joy Bilek, and many nieces and nephews. Jill was preceded in death by her mother, Joanne, and sister, Carol Ann Tye.

Family and friends were invited to gather and share in celebrating Jill’s life from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, October 15, in the Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home, 222 East South Boundary Street, Perrysburg. Services were held privately.

Because of her great love for animals, memorial contributions in her name are suggested to the Freedom Bridge Animal Rescue in North Carolina.
