Herman Roy Lanzenberger, 89, of Perrysburg, passed away peacefully, February 19, 2022, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, after a long courageous battle with myeloma. He was born July 22, 1932, in Wangen, Germany, to Aldebert and Adelheit “Heidi” (Bodenmiller) Lanzenberger. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy. He married Inge Kuckelkorn on October 29, 1955, and they shared 66 years together.
Herman had a masonry contracting business for more than 40 years. He was wellknown for his masonry skills around the area, receiving many awards for his masonry work. He was an active member of the Toledo Ski Club and a life member of the Schwaben Club. He was an avid reader, artist and enjoyed playing golf. Herman will be remembered for his selfless personality and his artistic ability. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Along with his wife, Inge, he is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Zaborski; grandchildren, Elizabeth Brown, Paul (Ann) Zabor-ski, Kyle Surface, Adam Surface and Heidi Surface; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Olivia, Lorelei, Constance and Eloise; brother, Gunnar (Irma) Lanzenberger, and sister, Wiltrude (Franz) Fackler. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Ingrid Surface.
A Memorial Mass was held Saturday, February 26, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Rose Catholic Church, 215 East Front Street, Perrysburg. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home, Perrysburg.
