Guillermo Justo Rojas (Alvarez), 81, of Toledo, passed away Sunday, February 13, 2022, at Addison Heights Health and Rehabilitation Center. Guillermo was born November 4, 1940, in Piura, Peru, to Miguel and Luza Rojas. In his 20’s, he earned a scholarship to study at Ohio State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business and master’s degree in agricultural economics.

Guillermo was a development specialist for the State of Ohio, helping to attract foreign companies to invest in Ohio. Most of his adult life was spent in the Columbusarea, where he worked and raised his family. Although soccer was his first sport, he embraced American football and was a big Buckeye football fan.

A skilled guitar player and singer, music was Guillermo’s favorite pastime. He performed at family gatherings and helped impart a love of music to his children. Among his favorite artists were Spanish superstar Julio Iglesias, Mexican ranchera singer Pedro Infante and the “King” Elvis Presley.

Guillermo is survived by his children, Guillermo “Bill” Justo (Merissa) Rojas, Clare Rojas and Francisco Rojas; former wife, Judy; grandchildren, Tommy, Robbie, Pearl and Asha; and sister, Luz (Fermin) Salaverry. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Hugo, and sister, Mica.

Friends and family will be received Thursday, February 24, from 10 a.m. to noon, at Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home, 222 East South Boundary Street, Perrysburg, where a funeral service will begin at noon. Burial will follow in Fort Meigs Union Cemetery.
