Charlotte “Short” Roberts passed away on Monday, October 10, 2022, at McLaren St. Luke’s Hospital in Maumee. Short was born on November 20, 1927, in Lima, to Verla and Charles Armentrout. She is survived by her husband and best friend, Tom Roberts. They married in 1946 and recently celebrated their 76th anniversary. They were inseparable.
Short was preceded in death by two wonderful daughters, Becky Lynn Carr (husband, David) and Susan Roberts-McGlade (husband, Eric). She is survived by grandchildren, Alison (Brian) Crowe, Melanie (John) Orzechowski, Todd (Leigh) Carr and Caitlin Roberts-McGlade, as well as greatgrandson, Griffin Orzechowski. She also is survived by a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Short enjoyed life to the fullest, the big things and the small: watching her daughters and grandchildren grow, volunteering at her church, visiting with friends, decorating her home, entertaining, and (last but not least) dining out, but the North Star in her life was Jesus. She believed in prayer and prayed incessantly. Jesus held her hand through life’s trials as He holds her now.
A Service of Death and Resurrection will be celebrated at First Presbyterian Church, 200 East Broadway Street, Maumee, on Friday, October 28. The Reverend Clint Tolbert will preside. The worship service will start at 11 a.m. After the service there will be a luncheon at the church. A committal service will be held at Pike Run Cemetery, Gomer, Ohio, at a later date.
