Allen Joseph Eckel, age 52, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, April 30, 2021.

He was born on July 3, 1968, in Toledo, Ohio, to Charles Eckel and Delores Richburg. His father, Charles, preceded him in death. He is survived by his parents, Dave and Delores Brown, of Maumee; his wife, Amy Eileen Eckel, whom he married on December 20, 1997, and his sons, Jacob Allen Eckel, and Joshua Dennis Eckel of Perrysburg. Allen also is survived by his brother, Michael and his wife, Amy Elizabeth Eckel, and their children, Emily, Amanda (Emilee) and David; his father and ∏ mother-in-law, Ed and Cathy Cornell of Greenville, Ohio; his brothers-in-law, Jonathan Pidock, Jack (Jessica) and Adam (Jackie) Cornell; nieces, Eve and Eloise, and nephew, Edwin. He also leaves behind numerous cousins and extended family members.

Allen spent his formative years in Holland, graduating from Springfield High School. After graduation, Allen joined the Air National Guard, 180th Fighter Division, Red Horse unit stationed at Camp Perry. He graduated from Owens Community College with an associate degree in computer science. Allen was an employee at Promedica as a database administrator. Allen enjoyed spending time with his sons and father, Dave, fishing on Lake Erie.

He was an avid Cleveland Browns and Ohio State fan. His other passions included sailing and golfing. His family and friends will remember him for his generous spirit and sense of humor.

His family would like to express their appreciation to Allen’s friends and co-workers at ProMedica for their generosity. He will be greatly missed. A celebration of Allen’s life will be held at a later date.
