The Country Garden Club will present a flower show entitled, “Seeds & Sprouts: Nurturing Growth,” on Saturday and Sunday, June 4 and 5.

The event will run from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, and 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, at the Way Public Library.

It is free and open to the public.

The five divisions of the flower show are floral design, horticulture, photography, botanical arts and an educational component.

Karen Hinkson, garden club member, said this year the educational component will be a conservation exhibit that seeks to raise awareness of home composting as a natural method to nurture garden plantings.

“Each category within the divisions is themed to a children’s book– reflecting the focus of the show, to nurture growth and development of children’s minds through literature,” she explained.

There also will be a boutique featuring 12 vendors with items for sale such as home decor, candles, jewelry, books, flowers from ribbons, stationery, cookies and caramels, Kokedama moss balls, garden club pottery and natural jam and jellies.

The boutique will be in the Mercy Room on the first floor of the library.

“Don’t miss the spectacular displays throughout the library,” Ms. Hinkson said.
