Robert Allen Combs, 79, of Northwood, passed away Monday, May 16, 2022, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo. Robert was born May 9, 1943, in Elkhorn City, Kentucky, to William H. and Rachel B. (Daniels) Combs. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army in the 101st Airborne, and was part of the Screaming Eagles. He married Linda Hathaway on April 18, 1964, and together they shared 56 years until she passed on January 11, 2021.

Robert worked as an inspector for the Dana Corporation. He also worked in Florida for the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, as he assisted the deputies and provided tech support for the laptop computers they used on the job.

He was a member of the Perrysburg Senior Center, where he was the Wii Bowling champion. He loved to tinker and work on projects. He enjoyed gardening, playing board, card and dice games, and bingo. He loved to play the guitar and listen to music. Robert never met a stranger and would talk and tell stories to anyone who would listen.

He will be missed for his outgoing personality, sense of humor and love for his daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his daughters, Lisa (Ron) Stewart and Angela (Barry Harden) Combs; grandchildren, Ron (Chanelle) Stewart Jr., Scott (Krista) Stewart and Bryant (Tiffany) Stewart; great-grandchildren, Dereck Stewart, Ellyshia Stewart, Devin Stewart, Adrian Stewart, Austin Stewart, Adelynn Stewart, Adam Stewart and Braiden Stewart; step-great-grandchildren, Mark and Mason Henninger, and Malaynea Miller; sister, Wilma Faye Martin, and sisters-in-law, Illa Frusher and Geraldine “Gerri” Thomas. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda; parents; grandson, Timothy Stewart; brother, Charles Combs and William “Bill” Combs Jr., and half siblings, Fred McSurely, Lillie Jones, Audrey Rowe, Exer Curtis, Eddie McSurley, Johnny McSurley, Ida McSurley, Rosie Belcher, Juanita Elkins, Woodrow Combs, and Dan Combs.

Friends and family were received Monday, May 23, from 3 to 8 p.m., at Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home, 222 East South Boundary Street, Perrysburg. Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 24, at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Burial followed in New Belleville Ridge Cemetery.
