Perrysburg High School Class of 2011 graduate Landon Tavernier has a part in the movie “Famous” being released December 10.

Mr. Tavernier plays Ryan Logan, the best friend of the lead character, Jason Mast.

The film, a melding of live theatre and film, will be released in U.S. theaters, and available to rent and own on digital HD internet, cable and satellite platforms worldwide. “This movie is about the abuse of power in the industry and how it has affected and still affects many artists trying to share themselves,” Mr. Tavernier said. “Becoming vulnerable is already such a hard place for so many to get to and to exploit that can leave people never being able to get to that true place again.”

“Speaking out about the abuse of power in the entertainment industry is something that I strongly believe in,” said executive producer Dawn Dunning, a former actress who testified against Harvey Weinstein. “We don’t often talk about the abuse of young men, but it’s time that we do.”

Mr. Tavernier enjoys acting in independent films.

“I want to continue making stories that matter and be a part of projects that will make people ask questions or go deeper into themselves. I actually am working on shooting something I wrote in Ohio, and my goal is to continue to ask myself questions and follow my interests and hopefully, with whatever I create, someone can relate, whether that be with something I write, a single moment of one of my characters, or even a single frame of a movie that pulls people to that vulnerable place. I think it’s important to ask questions about ourselves and our world, especially in this time of our lives.”

Written and directed by Michael Leoni, the film also stars CJ Valleroy, Brooke Butler, Josh Pafchek and Chris Kattan. The film was produced by Erica Katzin, Michelle Kaufer and Michael Leoni, and executive produced by Martine Melloul, Howard Barish, Dawn Dunning and Inbal Lessner.
