The Perrysburg Chamber of Commerce has hired a new executive director following the retirement of Sandy Latchem.

Tim Ansted, a 2002 Perrysburg High School graduate, was introduced during the chamber’s November 17 luncheon at the 180th Fighter Wing.

Most recently, Mr. Anstead was the program director for NewsRadio 630 WLAP, iHeartMedia, in Lexington, Kentucky.

While there, he managed the station, acting as point person for the day-to-day operation of the eight Lexington iHeartMedia radio stations.

He also worked for seven years as executive producer of the University of Kentucky’s sports network and for five years as event manager for Clear Channel.

“I am very excited about this opportunity with the Perrysburg Area Chamber of Commerce,” Mr. Ansted said. “I appreciate the board of directors putting their faith in me to lead into 2022 and beyond.”

Mr. Ansted was born and raised in Perrysburg and has lived in Kentucky for the last 19 years.

He is a 2006 graduate of Centre College, Danville, Kentucky, where he majored in history and minored in anthropology.

Mr. Ansted also studied for a semester at Centre-in-London.

His wife, Kelly, began as the new youth director of Grace United Methodist Church in mid-August.

“We have a 3-year-old son, Rhett, and a 1-year-old daughter, Rosie,” he said. “I never thought we'd move back to Perrysburg, but our families are all here, and it was just the right time to come back home and raise our family in Perrysburg.

“We already know that we made the right decision. Perrysburg is a great place to raise kids, the schools are wonderful, and it has a thriving business community. I am really looking forward to getting to know all of the current chamber members and adding new ones into the mix. My head has been spinning for weeks on some new and creative ways to excite the business community. I know my 14-plus years of experience with a leading media company in Lexington will translate well to this new position.”
