Eighth-graders at St. Rose Catholic School took to the Maumee River recently, learning about Native American history, erosion, water quality issues, seed dispersal and more.

The students kayaked the river with Metroparks Toledo guides, departing from the Maple Street boat launch, a short walk from the school.
