On Saturday, September 25, from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m., volunteers will gather at the Kryder Farm, 4862 County Road P, McClure, for the “big stir” event.

They expect to prepare more than two thousand jars of apple butter for the 44th Grand Rapids Applebutter Fest, coming on Sunday, October 10.

Apples and cider will be cooked in four large kettles, stirred with wooden paddles and canned.
