Albert F. Stanton, age 93, passed away on Friday, August 27, 2021, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. He was born January 26, 1928, in Toledo to the late Clinton and Glada (Lindsey) Stanton.

Al worked as a plant engineer for Haughton Elevator for 41 years until his retirement and then worked at the Toledo Zoo for 5 years in facilities management.

He was a member of Grace Church in Perrysburg for many years where he was an usher, taught Sunday School and served on the board of trustees. Al was creative and loved to work with his hands. He could fix anything and was affectionately known as “Mr. Wizard.” Always joy-filled and calm, he loved to sing and dance, often whistling a tune while at work or play.

Left to cherish Al’s memory are his loving wife of 70 years, Dorothy (Schudel) Stanton; children, Sally Krist, Lyn (Gene) Buckland and Julie (Ed) Andra; nine grandchildren; and 15 greatgrandchildren. He also was preceded in death by children, Michael in 2016, and Gayle Gardner in 2021; and siblings, Robert Stanton and Janet Hahnlen.

Family and friends visited at Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home, 222 East South Boundary Street, Perrysburg, on Tuesday, August 31, from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, September 1, at Grace Church, 601 East Boundary Street, Perrysburg, where additional visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Ft. Meigs Cemetery.

Memorials in Al’s memory may be directed to the church or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.

His children also would like to thank Belinda and her amazing staff at StoryPoint from the bottom of their hearts for all they have done in caring for Al and Dorothy.
