Above is the plaque, naming the interpretive center in honor of Ann Sawyer who was instrumental in the acquisition of the land and providing historical information. Below is an indoor rock climbing wall for youth to enjoy throughout the year.
Park district dedicates new interpretive center at quarry
A new interpretive center at Sawyer Quarry Preserve in Perrysburg Township was dedicated July 31.
The Ann B. Sawyer Interpretive Center opened to the public following a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Park director Neil Munger said the name could not be more appropriate, noting that the late Mrs. Sawyer had played a key role in acquiring the former family quarry and providing a history of the land.
