Clarence George Reider Jr., aka Chaunce, from Perrysburg, Ohio, passed away on March 22, 2021, surrounded by his family. Chaunce was born in Appleton, Wisconsin, on May 20, 1932. He married the love of his life, Marly, and they were married a glorious 57 years. Chaunce and Marly travelled the world together, enjoyed playing bridge with lifelong friends and tailgating at college football games.

Chaunce enjoyed a good book, a Packers game, toasting with friends and family, and telling a good story. Most people would describe our dad as a world traveler, train enthusiast, landscape photographer and a devout Catholic. On Sundays you could find him at St. Rose Church, where he ushered for decades. Chaunce served as a civil engineer in the U.S. Army. He graduated from the universities of Purdue and Wisconsin. He worked for Owens-Illinois for more than 25 years.

Chaunce is preceded in death by his wife, Marly; his parents, Clarence Sr. and Lillian, and his sons, Kenneth and Richard. He is survived by his children, Katherine (Reider) Spatz, Stephen Reider, Susan Reider and Sandra (Reider) Hallett. He also is survived by his loving grandchildren, Danielle, Meghan, Kaitlyn, T.C., Sean and Ryan.

The family received friends and family at Maison-Dardenne Walker Funeral Home and Crematory at 501 Conant Street, Maumee, on Tuesday, March 30, from 4 to 6 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 31, at St. Rose Catholic Church, 215 East Front Street, Perrysburg.
