According to the American Dental Hygiene Association (ADHA), tooth decay is the most common chronic disease among children, affecting 25 percent of children under five, and 60 percent of children ages five to 17.

Due to the success of this years dental hygiene day and with tooth decay being so prevalent among young children, the Owens Community College Dental Hygiene Program is offering a second dental hygiene day.

The first event showed a great need for childrens dental services within the community, and all appointments were filled within a week.

Anyone that could not make the first day is encouraged to make an appointment. Prevention is the most important part of success when it comes to dental hygiene.

To schedule an appointment, call 567-661-7294 and ask for the Free Dental Hygiene Day for kids. All appointments will be booked within the regular dental hygiene clinic hours, and spots are limited per day due to the CDC COVID guidelines.
