St. Rose Catholic School eighth graders Nina Rando and Caitlin Shroyer have qualified for the Ohio Academy of Science’s State Science Day.

The students competed at the district competition. Nina tested sugar to see which reacted best, or had the lowest specific gravity, with yeast. She tested glucose, sucrose and fructose by mixing together solutions with water and yeast.
