As part of Wood County Park District’s Base Camp Stories program, professional climbing guide Ben Waggoner shared slides and stories about his climbing adventures during a presentation December 2.

He explained how rock climbing is analogous to life, showing moments of failure and exhilaration.

Mr. Waggoner is the climbing operations manager for Adventus Climbing, which will open in fall 2022 at 2900 North Reynolds Road, Toledo.

He has been climbing for more than 20 years and made it his profession in 2014 when he started guiding at Hueco Tanks State Park in west Texas before building a bouldering gym. He serves as the northwest Ohio regional coordinator for the Ohio Climber’s Coalition.
