Friends, colleagues and family joined for an event to honor the memory of longtime Perrysburg resident and Messenger Journal editor Deb Buker on June 25.

A bench planter that sits at the corner of Louisiana Avenue and East Second Street holds a plaque with a photo of Mrs. Buker.

Mayor Tom Mackin said the tribute is a fitting honor for a woman who led an engaged and compassionate life.

Mrs. Buker’s husband, Les, and her friends Kim Klewer and Judge Aram Ohanian were among those who shared thoughts and memories.
