Perrysburg Christians United will host a blood drive Friday, May 21 at Zoar Luthern Church, on the corner of East Indiana Avenue and U.S. Route 20.

The blood drive will begin at noon and close at 6 p.m. Walk-ins will be accepted until 6 p.m.

Donors must be at least 17 years of age, in good general health and weigh at least 110 pounds but not more than 350 pounds.

They should eat a balanced meal and drink plenty of fluids four hours or fewer before donation. They also must wear a mask and will have a temperature check before entering the donation area.

The entire process takes about an hour. It begins with registration, which requires proof of identification. A mini-physical follows, which checks temperature, blood pressure, pulse rate and hemoglobin level. The actual donation time is less than 15 minutes.

On the day of the drive, donors may read the information booklet and donation questions online. Visit redcross.org/RapidPass. Read the information, answer the questions and print the pass. All blood types are greatly needed.
