Dear Editor:

I would like to thank the City of Perrysburg, the Perrysburg Messenger Journal, Richard Baranowski of Way Public Library, Richard Rettig of Perrysburg High School, PHS principal Aaron Cookson and the staff and students of PHS for their combined efforts to recognize veterans on Veterans Day.

Being recognized as a Vietnam veteran along with the Library of Congress interview by Mr. Baranowski and then the same interviewpublished in the Messenger and the total surprise of the “Hometown Heroes” banners downtown and the PHS veterans breakfast was more recognition than this Vietnam veteran and other veterans have ever received, would be my guess. I know it is certainly true in my case in the last 50 years.

I am sure I missed many people behind the scenes– forgive me.
