The Healing Barn, Millbury, will host a pop-up fund-raiser at Wyldewood Tack Shop, 8128 Secor Road, Lambertville, Michigan, on Saturday, December 18, from 1 to 4 p.m.
There will be live music and door prizes.
“While we’ve lost all fundraising opportunities during COVID, we’ve continued to maintain our rescue services, and have given rescue horse Lark the same high level of care he would have gotten if we had been able to raise money,” said Kelly Meister-Yetter, event coordinator. “We’ve also started a capital campaign because the paddock has been flooding for years and it’s time to get it fixed. That will require a considerable outlay of funds. When the paddock floods, the horses have to stay in the barn because the deep mud can cause tendon and ligament injuries. We’re hoping, ultimately, to raise $10,000 to pay for this project.”
Anyone wishing to donate can send a check to the Healing Barn, 27731 Bradner Road, Millbury, Ohio 43447. Donations via credit card can be made at thehealingbarn.org.
