Thomas Aaron Robbins, 89, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 22, at the University of Toledo Medical Center, surrounded by family and friends following a sudden stroke. He had made his home in Perrysburg for the past 45 years. His kindness, humor and generosity touched everyone who knew him.

Born in Middletown, Ohio, to Wm. Carl and Faye Robbins, he was the eldest of six children and fondly remembered his childhood days spent on his grandfather’s farm. A lifelong Buckeye fan, Tom graduated from the Ohio State University’s College of Agriculture in 1958. He then served in the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in West Germany.

He worked as a real estate appraiser for CLT and Sabre Systems/Manatron for more than three decades, appraising properties for auditors’ offices throughout northwest Ohio.

After retiring, he enjoyed traveling around the world with his late wife, Anna May. A devoted history buff, he loved visiting museums and could often be found reading every sign along the way. He stayed active by volunteering as an AARP tax aide and enjoyed home improvement projects.

He will be deeply missed by his surviving family: daughters, Kathleen Robbins and Maryann Robbins; stepdaughter, Christine Hartenfeld; granddaughter, Ashlee Hartenfeld; great-grandson, Levi; sisters, Mary Lou Salazar and Betsy Schweitzer; brothers, John (Nancy) Robbins and Richard (Trish) Robbins, along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Robyn Robbins (née Ashworth); his second wife, Anna May Robbins (née Edwards); his sister, Nancy Draut, and brothersin- law, Marty Schweitzer, Tim Hoffman and Ray Salazar.

Friends and family were received January 4, from noon to 2 p.m., at Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home, 222 East South Boundary Street, Perrysburg.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Carl and Faye Robbins Memorial Scholarship. Condolences may be made online to the family at walkerfuneral homes.com.
