The Monarch Grief Center is launching two new specialized support groups: Adult Loss of a Sibling/Parent, and Loss to Suicide. These groups join a growing list of specialized groups offered by the center, including Mid-Life Spousal/Partner Loss, Loss to Addiction/ Overdose and Later Life Spouse/Partner Loss.

Community members are invited to attend an interactive support group aimed at helping adults adjust to the loss of any loved one. “Walking through grief” will be held the first and third Friday of each month, May through October, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Perrysburg Hospice Center, 30000 East River Road.

Area residents who enjoy vacationing at Indian Lake State Park will be able to continue to do so this spring and summer. The park is now open following damage from the tornado and severe storms that struck Logan County on March 14.

For nearly a century, one funeral home has provided compassionate care to grieving families. Walker Funeral Homes and Crematory is entering its 90th year in 2024.

At the Perrysburg city council meeting on April 2, council members discussed upcoming changes to the cost of water and sewage in the city. Per minutes from the March 27 meeting of the Public Utilities Committee, Michael Maker, deputy director of water practice for New-Gen Strategies, gave a presentation regarding the new water and sewer rates.

For the district’s performance on the career tech report card, Penta Career Center received the 2023 5-Star Award. At the April 10 meeting, Superintendent Ed Ewers told the school board that the district received the award for its performance on the 2022-23 career technical planning district report card.
