Richard Benjamin Johnson, 81, of Delaware, Ohio, (and formerly of Perrysburg) returned to spirit peacefully in the early morning hours of Sunday, April 21, 2024, at the Grant Medical Center in Columbus.

Born November 6, 1942, in Toledo, Richard was son to the late Edward Parker and Myla (Cobb) Johnson. Richard honorably served in the U.S. Navy as a disbursing clerk (DK2) on the USS

Intrepid (CV-11) during the Vietnam War, and met his wife, Judy Hartenfeld, in 1972. They were legacy members of the First Congregational Church in Toledo.

Richard enjoyed golfing, playing cards, traveling, collecting Labino glass and spending time with his family. He and Judy spent most of their retirement years in Hilton Head, South Carolina, before returning to Columbus, for his last few years.
