Optometrists improve vision of thousands on Panama trip

Dr. Angie Jackson and Dr. Tracey Needham of Quality Family Eye Care in Rossford recently participated in a mission trip to Panama.

As part of the Volunteer Optometry Serving Humanity (VOSH) team, their goal was to bring clear vision to thousands of people in need. In early February, they visited the Chiriquí and Ngobe-Bugle regions.

“We were hosted by YWAM (Youth With a Mission), and they helped to coordinate the clinic sites,” Dr. Jackson explained.

“There were eight optometrists and 10 support staff who saw on average 500 patients a day to make it more than 2,000 patients seen in five days of clinic.
