CVB events costly, but draw thousands of visitors to town
Rossford Convention and Visitors Bureau revenues have been strong for several years, but expenses for this summer’s Glass City Balloon Race were a drain on the bank account.
“We built up a two-year cushion, but the balloon race depleted a lot of that,” said Beth Genson, executive director of the CVB, at last week’s meeting of Rossford City Council.
The event cost $50,000 more than the sponsorships that were raised, she noted, adding that CVB funds are now below $100,000.
