The Point Place/Shoreland community gathered together to celebrate Point Place Days with the 29th annual kick-off parade on June 1. Crowds lined along Summit Street starting at noon to watch
The 15th annual Mustard Seed Walk will take place Saturday, June 22.
Registration starts at 8:30 a.m., and the walk begins at 9 a.m., at Cullen Park.
John M. Lambert Jr., a longtime Shoreland resident, passed away on Sunday, May 26. He was 88 years old.
On July 4, 1919, Point Place was the epicenter of one the greatest upsets in boxing history, when then underdog Jack Dempsey beat Jess Willard for the world heavyweight championship.
