Levies and agendas discussed at PPBA’s annual Meet the Candidates forum

More than 70 Point Place and Shoreland neighborhood residents attended a Meet the Candidates Night at the Friendship Park Community Center on October 16.

The event featured local candidates speaking about their experience and platforms for their respective positions, along with representatives for issues that will be on the November 5 ballot.

The Point Place Business Association (PPBA) hosted the forum. The organization has hosted similar events in previous years.

“It’s important to know who our leaders are going to be,” said PPBA President Joyce Ejhinger. “If we have to have somebody to complain to, then we better know who to complain to.”

Members of the community center’s Student Leadership Program handed out schedules and presented the flags to kick off the evening.
