Julie M. Haas died on Saturday morning, July 28, 2018, at University of Toledo Medical Center. She was born March 16, 1948, in Toledo, to Clarence and Margaret (Shortridge) Gordon, and graduated from Penta County High School in 1966. She enjoyed quilting, crafts and Scrabble, but her greatest pleasure was in taking care of her children and grandchildren. A warm, generous soul, Julie was a natural caregiver, able to soothe the crankiest infants and bring joy to the many children she cared for in her Perrysburg home. One of her greatest accomplishments was founding the Nurturing Nook Child Care Center in Bowling Green and running it for many years. Julie will be greatly missed by her daughter, Annette (Charlie) Brewster, and her son T. J. (Phyllis) Haas, all of Perrysburg, and especially by her three grandchildren, Chelsea Brewster, Tyler (Kylee) Haas, and Troy Haas. She also leaves her brothers, Mike (Lynn) Mather of Newbury, Massachusetts; Clancy (Pat) Gordon, Bowling Green, Ohio, and Sam (Lisa) Gordon of Livingston, Montana. Arrangements are being handled by Toledo Cremation Society. A small private gathering was held August 5. Memorial contributions in Julie’s honor may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
