DANIEL PREMUDA

Daniel Paul Premuda died on September 26, 2018, in his winter home in Naples, Florida, at the age of 64. Dan was born to Vincent Franklin (deceased) Premuda and Dorothy Rosalie Premuda on October 2, 1953. Dan often told stories of living in a house with one bathroom and three sisters: Michale Ann (Premuda) and Jack (deceased) Prichard, Nancy Jo (Premuda) Knurek (deceased), and Margaret Lynn (Premuda) and Patrick Gallagher. A graduate of Perrysburg High School and the University of Cincinnati, after college, Dan began his accounting career, working for Ernst & Ernst, in Toledo. From there, Dan furthered his career, working for Marathon Oil Company and Marathon Pipeline in Findlay, Ohio, Casey, Illinois, and Houston, Texas, to Haslett, Michigan, to work for Dart Oil & Gas, and back to Houston, where he ended his career as vice president and controller for Wapiti Energy. Dan was a great mentor and supporter of his employees, responsible for helping advance many careers. For Dan, working hard was always a way of life, whether as a paper boy, putting himself through college, passing his CPA exams, surviving leukemia, or just having fun. Dan loved to play golf and made many friends while playing. After retirement, he joked when he left the house for his golf game, that he was “going to the office.” The time on the golf course with his friends was an important part of his life. One of the highlights of his life was making two holes in one. Dan is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sharlyn (Smalley) Premuda; sons, Joshua (Meghan) Premuda, and Joel (Kristyn) Premuda, and grandchildren Hadley, Connor, Dawson, Hazel, and Chloe. The family invites all who knew and loved Dan, to join us in the Chapel at First Presbyterian Church, South Main Street, Findlay, at 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 7, to informally share their memories of Dan. We hope to laugh and smile and probably shed a few tears. In lieu of flowers, Dan has asked that contributions be made to the MDS (Myeloidysplastic Syndrome) Foundation, or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
