Bert Lamberg, 76, of Gahanna, Ohio, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2018, at Sunrise of Gahanna. Born July 27, 1941, in Finland, to the late John and Lempi Lamberg, Bert made his way with his family to the United States as a teenager via Canada, eventually settling for many years in Perrysburg. He earned his bachelor of engineering at Youngstown University and his masters certification in project management from George Washington University. Bert was awarded for excellence in project management at Owens Corning’s Science and Technology Gala, where he worked for 33 years from 1966- 1999. He began as a facilities engineer in Toledo and retired as senior project manager from the Science and Technology Center in Granville. He was cofounder of Northwest Chapter of the Project Management Institute. Outside of work, Bert enjoyed boating, travelling with his wife, especially on cruises and to Hawaii, and weekends at the condo on Lake Erie with his family and friends. He is survived by wife, Sandy (Strawser) Lamberg; children, Wendy (Troy) Greeley and John (Karen) Lamberg; grandchildren, Nolan and Meredith Greeley; sister, Marjatta Gabriel, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Heikki Lamberg. The family would like to thank Kindred Hospice and Sunrise of Gahanna for their kindness and care. Per Bert’s request, services will be private and will include inurnment at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park in Toledo.
