Wood County Park District commissioners review 2021 budget

Neil Munger, park director, said the figures are based to some degree on this year’s budget with expenditures estimated at $4.01 million, slightly lower than 2020’s figure of $4.43 million.
Revenues are currently estimated at $7.5 million with an unencumbered balance on January 1, 2021 of $4.16 million. The park director estimates the district will close 2021 with an unencumbered balance of $3.53 million.
The largest portion of the proposed budget, $1.66 million, is dedicated to full-time, part-time, seasonal and intern staff, followed by capital improvements, $405,000; contract services, $356,100; equipment, $275,250; Public Employees Retirement System, $238,078; supplies, $132,950; other expenses, $102,500; advertising and printing, $101,500; local grants and land acquisition, $100,000 apiece; contract repairs, $70,200; materials, $50,500; rentals, $28,700; travel expenses, $24,800; Medicare, $24,045, workers’ compensation, $19, 485, and unemployment compensation, $4,000.
