Perrysburg Rotary honors military veterans at special luncheon
On November 10, the Perrysburg Rotary Club celebrated Veterans Day by hosting a special Veterans Day lunch. Club members were encouraged to invite a military veteran to join them as their lunch guest.
“Several of our members are military veterans, and we wanted to pay special tribute to them and any of their friends who are veterans as well,” said Chet Welch, Perrysburg Rotary Club president. “It’s the least we could do to honor their service to our country.”
In addition to the special guests, Rotary Club members were asked in advance to submit photos of family, friends or loved ones–past or present–who are serving or have served in any branch of the military. Club members developed a slide show using those images, along with the service members’ names, service branch and time served. The slide show was played before introducing veterans in attendance.
