Mr. Freeze celebrates 50 years

On May 18, Mr. Freeze celebrated its 50th anniversary with ice cream, community and a donation.

To commemorate the occasion, the owners of Mr. Freeze donated $5,000 to Wood County Plays. The money was accepted by WTOL weather-anchor Ryan Wichman on behalf of the organization, which is raising funds for an inclusive playground.

Supporting the community has been a critical part of the longevity at Mr. Freeze, according to its owners, the Peterson family.

“Our customers are from the community, and our employees are from the community. When Perrysburg does well, we do well, and we have always tried to do our part to support the many great things happening here,” said Todd Peterson, who co-runs the Perrysburg location.
