Gladys Wagner passed away peacefully on November 29, 2022, with family at her side at Bridge Hospice in Bowling Green. She was born on October 3, 1932, in Cleveland.
She was preceeded in death by her parents, James and Ruth (Case) Simmerly, and her husband, Richard, of 62 years.
Gladys was the mother to son, Richard (Jayne) Wagner, and daughters, Ruth (Gary deceased) Robison and Patricia Wagner; grandmother to Jennifer (Eddie) Campos, Kathleen Moore, James Wagner, Robert (Jessica) Wagner and Chrissy Moore (preceded in death); great-grandmother of 12, and great-great-grandmother of three; sister of Jacqueline Carollo and James (deceased) Simmerly, with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Gladys worked as a legal secretary all her life and retired from the Jacobs Company.
She lived 82 years in the Cleveland area and the last eight years in the Toledo area, so she could be near her son and daughter-in-law to better meet her health care needs. She always had a smile and never complained about her life changes, and was thrilled to be around family regularly. She loved going to the cottage, going on a boat ride and a golf cart ride.
Gladys was a faithful member of St. Clarence Catholic Church in North Olmsted. She attended Perrysburg Alliance Church with her daughter-in-law when she lived in Perrysburg. She had faith in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.
She was a devoted and loving wife and mother, and her life revolved around taking care of her family. She will be missed by all who were privileged to know her.
The family would like to thank the Area Office on Aging for her home care for 7.5 years and Heritage Assisted Living for her recent care.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, December 30, at 11 a.m., at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 150 South Enterprise Street, Bowling Green. A private burial will be held at a later date in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
