On October 31, Patricia Ann White Hunter, loving wife and mother, passed away at age 88. Patricia was born to Edwin Cramp White and Rosalie May Scott White on May 4, 1934, in Grove City, Pennsylvania. After graduating from Warren G. Harding High School in Warren, Ohio, she attended Bowling Green State University, majoring in English/journalism. Soon thereafter, working as publications editor at American Welding Co. in Warren, she met Stewart Thomas Hunter Jr., the love of her life. They were married on May 11, 1956 and remained husband and wife for 66 years.

Pat’s family always came first, but she was outgoing, intelligent and enjoyed making friends wherever the family lived. With her quick smile and empathetic nature, she was a natural asset for the League of Women Voters, the Child Conservation League, Welcome Wagon and other community groups.

Her love of animals– from family felines to demanding neighborhood squirrels–dovetailed nicely with her work as president of the Toledo Animal Shelter Auxiliary; she also served on the board of the shelter association, and valued the friendships she made there.

Pat was an avid reader, a great listener and an accomplished cook, baker, pianist and organist–with family members particularly admiring her rendition of “Clare de Lune.” She also enjoyed writing poetry, some of which was published, and hosting her family during the holiday season.

Pat, who is now with her savior Jesus, is survived by husband, Stewart; daughter, Sue Ellen; son, Mark, his wife, Marilyn; their daughter; Tatum; and son-in-law; Cole Bailey. Pat adored her granddaughter and may have bragged about her on more than one occasion. She also is survived by her brother, David White, and his wife, Sandi of Chino Valley, Arizona, as well as extended family in Arizona.

A memorial service will be held at Grace United Methodist Church, 601 East Boundary Street, Perrysburg, on Monday, November 28, at 11 a.m.
