Thomas L. Feightner Jr., 87, passed away in the early morning hours of Saturday, June 25, 2022. Tom was born on April 13, 1935, to Thomas L. Sr. and Leona (Frick) Feightner in Monessen, Pennsylvania.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Carol Loveridge, and his wife of nearly 50 years, Barbara (Coon) Feightner. Tom is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Nicole and Joseph Bihn; son, Thomas K. Feightner; granddaughters, Samantha and Emily Bihn; grandsons, Jacob and Mitchell Feightner, and his girlfriend, Louise Carnes. He also leaves behind lifelong friends from his years camping on Manitoulin Island. Mom and Dad’s loyal companion, Tinker, will miss him terribly.
Tom was a hard-working man, starting as a young boy of 12 and finally retiring at the age of 85. His careers included accounting and cost engineering for Owens Corning Fiberglas, a service advisor for George Ballas and substitute teaching for 15 years, working with students with disabilities. He also was a U.S. Navy veteran, and served as a part of the naval blockade of Cuba in 1962.
His favorite topics of conversation were stories about camping on Manitoulin Island, the antics of his grandchildren and cars. His hobbies were planting trees and feeding those around him with his amazing dishes, including his homemade noodles. For years, he tirelessly pulled kids in tubes and skis on the lake and taught generations of kids how to fish. Tom spent years coaching soccer for the Perrysburg Youth Soccer Association. He acted as a father to many and was always thinking about the next generation.
