MAPS air museum dedicates F-16 in honor of 180th Fighter Wing pilot
More than 450 people gathered at the Military Aviation Preservation Society Air Museum in Canton on November 9, for a ceremony honoring Lieutenant Colonel Kevin “Sonny” Sonnenberg, left, an F-16 pilot assigned to the 180th Fighter Wing who was killed in action during a June 15, 2007, combat mission in Iraq.
The ceremony, honoring Lt. Col. Sonnenberg’s selfless service and sacrifice, included the dedication of an F-16 fighter jet in his name, which will remain on display at the museum.
