provides free obituaries. These obituaries, however, should conform to our style.

CAROL BROWN
Carol Ann Brown, 71, of Perrysburg, died January 27, 2012, in her home. She was born in Toledo, on March 1, 1940, to William Gifford and Doris (Knitz) McMorgan.
She and her husband Pete owned and operated Network Video for many years. She was an avid tennis fan. She enjoyed spending time with her grandson, Daniel. She also enjoyed fishing, boating and sunning at the pool while visiting with her friends.
Ms. Brown is survived by her sons, Edward (Kathleen) Brown, Daniel (Libbie) Brown; daughter, Cheri Sullivan; grandson, Daniel, and brothers, Gene (Mary) McMorgan and Rich McMorgan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Brown; grandchildren, Michael and Megan Brown; daughter in-law, Susan (Schimming) Brown; sister June Feller; brother in-law, Gene Feller, and sister in-law, Irene McMorgan
A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, February 4, 2012, from noon to 5 p.m., at the Village at River Place Condominium Clubhouse, 12095 Eckel Junction Road, Perrysburg. Arrangements were made by the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, Maumee.
Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice.
CHERYL CHESNEY-WALKER
Cheryl Lynn Chesney-Walker, died January 23, 2012, in Powahatan, Virginia. Born January 15, 1960, in Perrysburg, she was a 1978 graduate of Perrysburg High School. She went on to pursue a teaching degree from Bowling Green State University in 1982. She achieved her master’s degree in education in 1994 from the University of Toledo.
She worked for several years in the Springfield Local District in the special education department. She went on to work for the University of Toledo Medical College, Washtenaw Community College, and Terra State Community College until 2004, when she left Ohio for Virginia to take a position at the Virginia Commonwealth University as executive director of student services and students with special needs.
She enjoyed fishing and karaoke with her husband, making candles and taking trips to the beach. She also enjoyed volunteering her time tutoring and teaching children.
She is survived by her husband, Shawn Walker; son, Nicholas (Kasey Abrams) Karafa; daughter, Morgan (William) Jones; sisters, Cynthia (Fred) Hille, Michele (Walt) VanDromme; brother, David (Julie) Chesney; aunt, Jane Parsons, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Carol Chesney.
A Celebration of Life was held January 29, at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, Maumee. A funeral service was held at the same funeral home on January 30, followed by a private burial.

JOHN FLETCHER
John Fletcher, 53, of Perrysburg, died as the result of an accident while on the job on the Ohio Turnpike on Tuesday, January 24, 2012. He was born on Thanksgiving day in 1958, in Norwalk, Ohio, to Forest and Jeanne Fletcher. He was a graduate of Western Reserve High School and Bowling Green State University. Mr. Fletcher worked at the Ohio Turnpike Commission as an assistant foreman, where he had been employed for almost 30 years. He also worked for National Family Opinion in Northwood, Ohio, and Hershey Food Corporation.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and looked forward to the long family vacations taken every year. He also enjoyed trains and was interested in history.
Mr. Fletcher is survived by his wife, Amy; children, Christopher, Lorna and Katie, and brothers, David Fletcher of Euclid, Ohio, and Jim (Pam) Fletcher. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services were held Saturday, January 28, at Grace United Methodist Church, Perrysburg, with the Rev. Dennis Ditto officiating. Burial was private. The Ohio Turnpike Commission and State Highway Patrol provided a private escort for the family to Grace United Methodist Church. Arrangements were made by the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, Perrysburg.

ALVENA KOHL
Alvena I. Kohl, 91, of Perrysburg, died Sunday, January 29, 2012, at Otterbein of Perrysburg. She was born on June 7, 1920, in Henry County, Ohio, to William and Mary (Bohn) Grau. She graduated from Holgate High School in 1939. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Perrysburg since 1957. Ms. Kohl was an avid bridge player. She also enjoyed reading, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Thomas (Julie) Kohl of Hillsboro, Oregon, Jack Kohl of Toledo, and Mary Dukes of Perrysburg; grandchildren, Zachary Kohl and Libby Dukes; step-granddaughters, Jenny (Mark) Piscitelli and Katy (Jeremy) Reedal, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Meghan Kohl; sisters, Mildred, Laura, and twin sister, Alvera, and brother, Elmer.
Friends and family will be received today, February 1, from 1 to 2 p.m., at the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 East South Boundary Street, Perrysburg, where funeral services will begin at 2 p.m., with Chaplain Chris Roper officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
RICHARD LIEDIGK
Richard W. Liedigk, 80, of Perrysburg, died January 1, 2012, at his home. The son of Dorothy and Paul Liedigk, he was born December 12, 1931. He retired from Libbey-Owens-Ford in Rossford in 1980. He served in the Army in the Korean War as a medic, from 1952 to 1954, Third Infantry Division, where he received the Bronze Star.
He enjoyed watching sports, especially the Lions and Tigers, and was a longtime amateur radio operator. KC8FX (silent key).
Mr. Liedigk is survived by his wife of 54 years, Elizabeth; son, Jeff; daughter, Marsha Kulish (Barton); and grandchildren, McKenna and Maddison, and brothers Don and Paul Liedigk. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert.
A private memorial service was held.

NICHOLAUS SMITH JR.
Nicholaus “Nick” Cleon Smith Jr., 64, of Perrysburg, died Sunday, January 29, 2012, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. He was born in Toledo on November 26, 1947, to Maeola (Oates) and Nicholaus Smith Sr. and was a 1965 graduate of Rossford High School.
During his high school years, Mr. Smith began his career in the lawn and garden retail business with McBride Equipment, which he later co-owned with his father. He attended Penta Tech and Owens Community College, where he studied computer programming.
During the mid-1980s, McBride Equipment was named the largest Simplicity Dealer in the United States and was a successful dealership for Arctic Cat Snowmobiles and Stihl Equipment. In 2001, Mr. Smith closed the business due to his struggle with multiple sclerosis.
He married Sharon Henry on November 6, 1970.
He was a member of Saddles & Surreys 4H Club and the Maumee Valley Thunderbird Club and was an avid Ohio State University and Rossford Bulldogs sports fan. In his spare time, he enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, snowmobiling, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon; daughters, Heather (Mark) Nissen and Holly (Chris) Kiefer; grandchildren, Lauren and Austen Nissen and Claire and Cole Kiefer, all of Perrysburg Township; mother, Maeola Smith of Perrysburg; mother-in-law, Betty Henry; sisters-in-law, Cindy (Dave) Kistner and Lisa (John) Evans, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father.
Visitation will be held today, Wednesday, February 1, after 10 a.m., at Zoar Lutheran Church, 314 East Indiana Avenue, Perrysburg, where funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will be private. Arrangements were made by the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, Perrysburg.

JOYCE WELLING
Joyce Welling, 61, of Swanton Ohio, died January 27, 2012, in her home. She was born to Robert and Helen Heckler on February 4, 1950, in Toledo. She graduated from Perrysburg High School in 1968 and went on to study fine art and Native American studies at Bowling Green State University; it was at BGSU where she discovered her lifelong passion as an artist of hot glass, mosaics and jewelry.
She lived the last decade of her life with her partner John Pioterek. Together they enjoyed gardening, enjoying the natural world, cooking and enjoying the company of their pets.
Ms. Welling was a small business owner and real-estate agent. She owned Fitzpatrick Tavern, Star Graphics Inc., and Mother Hubbard's Kitchen Cubbard. She was an active volunteer for the Wood County Genealogical Society, Black Swamp Blues Society, Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, and charities that supported the Old South End community of Toledo.
She is survived by her son, Cody Welling of Bloomington, Illinois; daughter, Nicole Welling of Austin, Texas; sister, Nancy Sloan of Perrysburg; niece, Phoebe Sloan; nephew, Nate Sloan; great-niece and great-nephew, Zoe and Owen Sloan, and partner, John Pioterek.
Funeral services were held Monday, January 30, at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, Maumee.
Memorial donations may be made to the Wood County Humane Society.
ALICE WIESENBERG
Alice (Richardson) Wiesenberg, 79, died January 24, 2012. She was born in her family’s home in Struthers, Ohio, on March 28, 1932. She moved to Toledo with her parents in 1948, and was a 1950 graduate of Scott High School.
She married Robert Wiesenberg on May 1, 1954, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Toledo. Mrs. Wiesenberg was employed at the Ohio Bell Telephone Company for more than 20 years, retiring in 1987 from the Business Service Center at Ameritech.
She was a member of Zoar Lutheran Church in Perrysburg and for many years was in charge of the Nursery Roll. She was active in Driver’s for Senior Citizens and a volunteer for Lutheran Social Services.
She is survived by her sons, Robert (Laurie) Wiesenberg of Johns Creek, Georgia, Keith (Kathryn) Wiesenberg of Cincinnati, Ohio, Todd (Elizabeth) Wiesenberg of Knoxville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Robert, John, Corey (Alan) Longenecker, Elizabeth, Michael, David, Mary Katherine, Allison and Conner; great-grandchildren, Breanna and Marissa; brother, Richard (Judy) Richardson of Apex, North Carolina, and nieces, Heather Shea and Jennifer Richardson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, on November 18, 2001.
Visitation was held Sunday, January 29, in the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, Perrysburg. A memorial service was held Monday, January 30, at Zoar Lutheran Church in Perrysburg.
